Build Your Cloud On The Most Solid Of Online Foundations
Oracle are a relative new comer to the cloud infrastructure market, first focusing on support for their Oracle Database, and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL). More recent revisions now include support for Windows Server 200x with the inclusion of para-virtualized drivers which enable impressive near-native server performance.
Rather than go for features, Oracle have gone for scalability, and performance, which is fine by us. This is a key reason why we selected Oracle as our primary partner for building Cloud solutions.
The ability to assign roles to individual cloud cluster nodes, so that one node might be a ʻmanagerʼ, another might host VMs and another might solely be responsible for I/O - enables us as ʻcloud buildersʼ - to create cloud systems that really scale.
Oracleʼs cloud solutions might not be so well known as others from VMWare, Citrix or Microsoft, but for us - itʼs the only product where we can say with confidence, that the skys the limit.
