Our ZEUS Traffic Management (ZTM) cluster was our largest single investment for our hosting center, but the easiest of buying decisions. The evaluation period enabled us to test the product with a number of real life web applications, and we experienced response time improvements ranging from 300 to 4,000 percent. Substantial reductions in CPU and bandwidth were also noted.

All web applications hosted by us must pass through this cluster before requests hit their servers, however customers are able to pick and choose which features to benefit from - if any.

It is typical that before a hosting application is moved up to the hosting center we will load test it with and without the ZEUS system, and report back the findings.

The ZEUS system is an exellent example of technology that aids consolidation and increases efficiency. Because much of a website load is ʻoffloadedʼ to the ZEUS system, this means itʼs possible to scale back the hardware requirement on the back end servers. This saves on hardware, and associated costs, such as power.

A recent test showed that without the ZEUS system one customer would need to buy in four additional servers to service the same levels of traffic.
